Viehscheid (cattle drive) in Oberstdorf

The Alpine cattle drive in Oberstdorf is one of the most popular events of the year.

On 13 September from around 9:30 a.m. the cows arrive from the Bierenwangalpe, Taufersbergalpe, Haldenwang, Rappenalpe, Biberalpe and Traufbergalpe am Ried (south of Oberstdorf).

For a comfortable journey, everything is taken care of. Shuttle buses will depart from Oberstdorf to the Viehscheidplatz starting at 8:00 a.m.

A marquee with drinks and hearty dishes is available for you on site in Ried.

Enjoy the special atmosphere and the lively hustle and bustle at the Oberstdorfer Viehscheid.

The Four Hills Tournament starts every year in Oberstdorf at the Orlen Arena at the foot of the Schattenberg.

Top athletes from all over the world come together here every year to compete.

The Heini-Klopfer ski flying hill is the third largest hill (with a hill record of 242.5m) in the world.       

A visit is not only worthwhile during competition times.

Take the inclined lift to the platform of the tower at a height of 72m and enjoy a breathtaking view of Lake Freiberg and the Oberstdorf mountains.
